At Messages for Miracles, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, understood, and valued.

Through meaningful school experiences, we teach children kindness, empathy, and inclusion—helping them understand and embrace differences instead of fearing them.

Our program uses storytelling, connection, and real-life impact to inspire students to build a more compassionate world.

After each visit, students create heartfelt messages and cards for children and families in hospitals—spreading kindness far beyond the classroom.

Our Inspiring Programs

Kindness Curriculum

Teaching Empathy and Compassion

Our kindness program is brought to life through engaging, real-world experiences that help children truly understand empathy—not just learn about it. Through storytelling, discussion, and meaningful activities, students begin to see the world through others’ eyes and recognize the power of their words and actions.

Each lesson builds compassion, connection, and confidence—helping create classrooms where every child feels accepted and valued.

Inclusive Practices

We believe every child deserves to feel accepted, understood, and included. Through meaningful conversations and guided experiences, students learn to see beyond differences and recognize the value in every individual.

Our program helps break down fear and misunderstanding—replacing it with empathy, kindness, and a true sense of belonging in the classroom.

Community Engagement

Building Connections

Our program extends beyond the classroom by connecting students to real-world acts of kindness. After each visit, students create heartfelt messages and cards for children and families in hospitals—giving them the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

This experience helps children understand that even small acts of kindness can have a powerful impact, fostering compassion that reaches far beyond their school walls.

Family Involvement

Partnering with Parents

We recognize the vital role families play in a child's education. By encouraging parental involvement through events and workshops, we create a strong support network that enhances the learning experience and promotes holistic development.

FAQs

What is the enrollment process?

Getting started with Messages for Miracles is simple and welcoming. Schools or organizations can reach out to schedule a visit or program. From there, we work together to create a meaningful experience tailored to your students—focused on kindness, understanding differences, and building empathy in a way children truly connect with.

Who created Messages for Miracles?

Messages for Miracles was created by a special education teacher with over 20 years of experience—and a mother whose own journey has shaped her passion for helping children understand differences.  Debra’s brother was a wonderful human being who just happened to have cerebral palsy.  Her son is an awesome 3 month preemie miracle who is now 18.  Her book, Sammie the Salmon, is in honor of Sam and all premature miracles.

After witnessing how often children with special abilities are misunderstood or excluded, she made it her mission to help all children build empathy, kindness, and acceptance from an early age.

What happens during a Messages for Miracles visit?

Each visit is an engaging and meaningful experience designed to help children truly understand differences. Through a heartfelt read-aloud, real conversations, and interactive activities, students learn what empathy looks like in real life.

Students also create “Messages for Miracles”—uplifting cards for children facing challenges—so they can turn kindness into action and make a real difference in someone’s life.

Who is this program for?

Messages for Miracles is designed for elementary-aged students and school communities who want to build a culture of kindness, empathy, and inclusion. It is especially meaningful for helping students understand and support peers with different abilities.

How can families participate?

Families can participate by attending school events, volunteering for activities, joining our parent advisory board, and collaborating with teachers to enhance their child's educational journey.
